How to Prevent Hair Loss: Simple and Effective Remedies

In general, hair loss is a condition that reflects the level of health of the person, although not a dangerous disease, millions of people are desperately seeking a cure for hair loss, our society drives us to look healthy and young, hair loss damages or looks and our self esteem, making us less sure of ourselves.

Hair loss is a metabolic disorder where hair starts thinning, falling, or disappearing. The papilla which is an up growth at the base of the follicle, actually produces hair when a special group of cells turn amino acids into keratin, a type of protein of which hair is made. The rate of production of these protein ‘building blocks’ determines hair growth. Hair loss is more common to men than to women.

This can affect all – men, women and children. The major factor for hair loss is nutritional deficiency. Other causes are age factor, genetic factor, hormonal changes, stress and excessive dandruff.

The hair grows at an average length of approximately 1.2 centimeters per month. Females aged fifteen to thirty years old has the fastest hair growing rate.

    * Lack of vitamins (specially vitamin B6 and folic acid) in diet
    * Inadequate nutrition and improper diet
    * Stress, worry, anxiety, and sudden shock
    * Heredity factors
    * Prolonged Illness (like typhoid, syphilis, chronic cold, influenza, and anemia)
    * Unclean condition of the scalp
    * Poor blood circulation

Herbal Remedies for Hair Loss:

    * Mix 100 g each of amla (goose berry), retha, and shikakai and boil in two liters of water till the liquid reduces to half. It is good herbal remedy for hair loss.
    * Massage the scalp and hair with coconut milk or Aloe Vera gel. Leave it for ½ hour, and then rinse with warm water. Do this thrice a week
    * Mix aloe Vera with herbal powder triphala and apply it to the hairs. Continue this for three to six months. New hairs will start growing.

Home Remedies for Hair Loss:

    * Amla oil prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil is considered a valuable hair tonic. This is a very simplest and best natural remedy for hair loss.
    * A mixture of equal quantity of fresh amla juice and lime juice when used as a shampoo stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.
    * Mustard oil boiled with henna leaves is also useful in healthy growth of hair. About 250 grams of mustard oil should be boiled with 100 grams of henna leaves. This is another effective home remedy for hair loss.
    * Apply a well prepared paste made from hot olive oil, honey, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath and leave it for 15 minutes. This is also effective home remedy for hair loss.
    * Make a shampoo by mixing 100 g each of amla (Indian goose berry), retha, and shikakai and boil in two liters of water. Use this shampoo for your hair for one month. This will prevent hair loss and is good baldness treatment.
    * Mix the powder of shana seeds and a few drops of essential oils such as sesame oil or coconut oil and make a paste. Apply this paste on scalp regularly one of the effective home remedies for hair loss.
    * Grind lime seeds and black pepper in equal quantities in a small amount of water and apply this on the scalp daily. This is one of the good home remedies for hair loss.

Advice for Hair Loss:

    * Include plenty of protein and iron in your diet
    * Take mineral supplements like calcium, magnesium, and zinc
    * Do not use hair dryers
    * Do meditation to reduce stress and tension
    * Don’t pull on your hair with a brush or comb when it is wet
    * Do not use hair dyes (synthetic hair colors)
    * Eat green and leafy vegetables
