Block Tower – Metous Studio

The photos here show the result of the work done by Metous Studio. Metous Studio is a mock architectural firm formed by ten architecture students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The building resembles the video game that involves towering the building blocks to make as tall a building as possible. The Metous Studio was formed under the guidance of architects David Lee and Anthony Stahl and the objective behind making the building was to create a young and new revolutionary design in architecture that will capture everyone’s interest. The building won the 2010 Mock Firms International Skyscraper Challenge: Collegiate Division, beating over 30 other international entries for the title. The concept behind making the tower was to create a high rise living creature that defines Mexican culture and Mexico’s people. Since it has been set up the tower has attracted a lot of attention and is well on its way to becoming a land mark in the city.
